The individual disability insurance policy provides a 20% discount to all employees. Additionally, the rates are unisex. This saves women even more since women typically pay at least 40% more on their disability insurance than their male counterparts. As a result, women who submit their applications through Set for Life net a 55% discount.
The policies are own occupation covering people if they can’t work in their occupation or medical specialty. The policies include a noncancelable, guaranteed renewable clause which locks in the rates and policy provisions for the duration of the policy.
Rates are based on age, occupation and amount of benefit. Policies are subject to medical underwriting.
