Standard Insurance Company announced today they are upgrading several surgical specialties to a 4P occupational class. This will reduce the premiums for these classes by about 20%:
Effective May 1, 2016, ten surgical occupations will be upgraded from a 3P to a 4P occupation classification for individually underwritten Protector Platinum and Protector+ (in Vermont) policies. This will make Standard even more competitive in this marketplace.
The following Surgical Occupations are Upgraded to 4P Classification:
- Cardiac Surgeon
- Cardiothoracic Surgeon
- Colorectal Surgeon (Proctologist)
- General Surgeon
- Interventional (Surgical) Nephrologist
- Neurosurgeon
- Plastic Surgeon
- Surgical Neuro-Otologist
- Surgical Oncologists
- Thoracic Surgeon
