As a self employed individual, you rely on your income more than most. As a result, it is critical your income is protected with disability insurance.

If you recently became self employed, it may be difficult to acquire coverage. To qualify for benefits, you need to show a track record of at least one year’s worth of income.

If you have been self employed for more than a year and have a track record of income, your premiums will depend on your age, occupation, gender and benefits you would like on your policy.
