Applying for Life Insurance Simultaneously with Disability Insurance

When you apply for either life insurance or disability insurance, the companies will require you to conduct a paramedical exam. This is a blood and urine test and in some cases a series of medical questions asked by a professional.

After the tests are complete, the results are sent directly to you. The results stay current for up to 6 months. As such, if you apply for one, you can reuse those results for the other policy.

If you are applying for both life and disability insurance simultaneously, you can take one test and have the results sent to more than one company. You are not required to apply to the same company for both your life and disability insurance.

Depending on the size of your life insurance policy, you may be required to extra requirements such as an EKG that is not required for disability insurance. Therefore, it may be important to first consider the size of the life insurance policy before you apply for disability insurance.
